Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) is the new Sachsenring Moto3™ lap record holder after the Japanese star set a blistering 1:25.840 to lead Practice 1 at the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. Two tenths adrift of Sasaki was second place Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo), with third place Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) over half a second off after the first lightweight class outing of the weekend.

Ivan Ortola (Angeluss MTA Team) and Ryusei Yamanaka (Gaviota GASGAS Aspar M3) rounded out the first top five of the Grand Prix, as World Championship leader Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) claimed P6.
