Bezzecchi beats Martin in Warm Up as M. Marquez crashes

Mooney VR46 Racing Team’s Marco Bezzecchi was the fastest rider in the MotoGP™ Warm Up session at the Sachsenring as he pipped Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) by just 0.062s. Bezzecchi’s best lap was a 1:20.999, the only rider in the 1:20s bracket in Warm Up, while Martin’s best time was a 1:21.061 to just beat World Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) by 0.036s.

Miguel Oliveira (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team) claimed fourth place to give Aprilia a boost on Sunday morning, ahead of 2021 World Champion Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) in fifth. Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda IDEMITSU) put Honda in the top six after posting a 1:21.223, finishing 0.224s down on Bezzecchi.

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) had his fifth crash of the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. After his Friday tumble and his three falls in Qualifying, the 11-time winner at the Sachsenring crashed on Sunday morning at Turn 7. The eight-time World Champion has gone to the medical centre following the crash.
