Marc Marquez withdraws from German GP

The eight-time World Champion has elected to miss the race at the Sachsenring after a Warm Up crash at Turn 7

Repsol Honda Team have confirmed Marc Marquez has elected to withdraw from the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.

Before Sunday’s Warm Up, Marquez had crashed four times – once on Friday in that huge incident with Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) and three during qualifying. However, after suffering a big Turn 7 highside in the morning Warm Up session, the eight-time World Champion suffered a small fracture to his left thumb.

As a result, the #93 took the decision to miss the upcoming race, meaning his chances of claiming a 12th successive victory at the Sachsenring end. Hopefully we’ll see Marc Marquez back on track at next weekend’s Dutch TT.
