Loris Baz came through the FIM Superstock 100 Cup before riding for Kawasaki Racing Team in WorldSBK. In 2014, Baz was fifth in the Championship after an impressive nine podiums – eight of which were second places. In 2015 the Frenchman moved to MotoGP™, battling Hector Barbera for the Open Class crown and just missing out despite a best finish of P4 in Misano. The performance earned Baz a place alongside Barbera at Avintia Racing for 2016 and the Frenchman had a tough year interrupted by injury, but took another P4 in Brno and a P5 in Sepang. For 2017 Baz remains in the team, riding Ducati machinery once again.
