Regis Laconi is a Yamaha Cup Winner and 125cc French Champion and won the 250 European Championship in 1994 moving to 250cc Grand Prix the next year with team Tecmas. It wasn\'t long before he moved up 500cc on a Honda V2 before being recruited by Red Bull Yamaha in 1998. The Frenchman won his first Grand Prix in 1999 at Valencia and after three years with the British based team, Laconi switched to WSB with Aprilia. He returned to MotoGP in 2002 with Aprilia aboard the 4 stroke RS Cube and finished 19th.
