Iannone: “28 laps will be difficult”

Ducati Team rider consolidates pace with pole position - riding through the pain barrier

After seeing teammate Andrea Dovizioso set the pace in FP4, Ducati Team rider Andrea Iannone hit back at his compatriot to take pole position at the Red Bull Ring, as predictions about Ducati dominance at the venue seem founded. The pole is the Italian rider’s second in MotoGP™, but the Desmosedici rider expects a challenging race after injuring his ribs in a motocross crash during the summer break.

Andrea Iannone (P1):  “The injury is a bit better today and I think the Clinica Mobile has worked very well for me. The recovery is not fast but the pain has improved a lot since yesterday. Over 28 laps I think it will be difficult…but I don´t want to focus on the injury because it’s a negative point. We have a lot of positive points – we’re on pole position -  and this is a good moment for us.”
