#AustrianGP Moto2™ race guide: Saturday's fastest in stats

As MotoGP™ returns to the Red Bull Ring, the Sunday guide looks through the quickest qualifiers

  • Johann Zarco starts from pole for the second time in 2016. From the last eight occasions Zarco has started from pole he has taken seven victories and one second place finish.
  • Franco Morbidelli starts from second place on the grid, his best ever qualifying result in grand prix racing.
  • Tom Luthi, who starts from third place on the grid, will be aiming to return to the podium for the first time since he was third at the French GP.
  • Heading the second row of the grid is Marcel Schrotter – his best qualifying result since he was third fastest qualifier at Mugello in 2013.
  • Alex Marquez starts from fifth place on the grid, which is his best qualifying result since moving up to the Moto2 class at the start of last year.
  • Axel Pons has qualified in sixth place on the grid; the third time this year he has started from the second row.
