Neukirchner rode as a 250 wildcard in the German GP from 2001 to 2003 while competing in the same category on his national domestic front. He arrived in the World Championship in 2011 in the Moto2 class on an FTR chassis with the MZ Racing team, having previously plied his trade in the WSBK series. For 2012 Neukirchner joins the Championship-winning Kiefer Racing team on a Kalex chassis, as he tries to emulate 2011 title winner compatriot Stefan Bradl's exploits with the team.
