The MotoGP™ Timingpass is the ultimate live timing experience for fans of the most exciting sport on earth.
TimingPass is MotoGP™’s official real-time data service, providing exclusive access to advanced live timing tools, precise data on rider positions, rider performance, tyre choices and weather conditions and much more in-depth information about exactly what is happening on track.
The product has been designed and perfected over several seasons to take true MotoGP™ aficionados right to the heart of the action, allowing them to enjoy enhanced viewing of every second of each practice, qualifying session, Sprint and Grand Prix race to the absolute max.
What specific benefits does the TimingPass provide for fans?
Using the MotoGP™ TimingPass in conjunction with the MotoGP™ VideoPass or another video source (such as your local live broadcaster) is like having a place right at track side on the pit wall, next to the start-finish straight.
It provides fans with the same live data as used by the riders’ teams and the commentators at each Grand Prix, allowing them to immediately view and analyse exactly what’s happening on track, as the action unfolds.
The TimingPass turns every track session, Sprint and race into a pure interactive adrenaline rush, revealing incidents and strategies every second and giving fans exclusive data you can't see on TV.
Following the action live with revealing and precise data helps fans to quickly understand decisions from Race Direction (those responsible for upholding the safety and rules of the sport) and how rider and team strategies are developing. This makes the TimingPass an essential tool.
Fans using the TimingPass benefit from experiencing the sessions, practices, Sprints and races firsthand, instantly accessing all times and additional data live, for every rider on track.
This gives MotoGP™ TimingPass users an in-depth understanding of what is happening all the way through each Grand Prix in all three World Championship classes – MotoGP, Moto2™ and Moto3™, from the first second of Friday free practice, right through to the chequered flag at the end of the races on Sundays.
Key features of the MotoGP™ TimingPass
The MotoGP™ TimingPass User Guide includes a glossary describing all the information and features you’ll find available in the product. Here is a quick rundown of the main features of the MotoGP™ TimingPass:
- Live Classification

The TimingPass allows fans to constantly keep track of every riders’ position on track, see the respective real-time position of the riders, see the riders’ gaps to the leading rider and the rider just ahead, as well as allowing fans to analyse rider progression throughout the session, Sprint or race.
- Live World Championship

In real-time, TimingPass users can watch how every overtake and change of rider position in a MotoGP™ Sprint and race affects the overall live World Championship standings. This gives an instant view of the ‘as-it-stands’ World Championship status of each rider, therefore providing insight into how the riders and teams strategise and respond.
- Intermediate Times

The TimingPass allows fans to analyse performance by circuit sector (S1/S2/S3/S4) for each rider. You can also follow each rider's sector evolution on their Current Lap, Last Lap, and Best Lap, viewing data by sector or by accumulated times. This means you can see how well a rider is doing in a specific area of the track, which can indicate how likely they might be to overtake or lose ground to another rider in the forthcoming laps, or how well they might qualify.
- Session Info

View all the relevant information for every live session in each World Championship class, including weather conditions, track temperature and top speeds, in a streamlined interface.
- Race Direction decisions

Via official messages from Race Direction, MotoGP™ Timingpass users can instantly see updates relating to regulations and penalties such as:
- Exceeding of track limits: When a rider goes outside the stipulated track limits, a penalty may be imposed, impacting their qualifying efforts or position in a race.
- Long lap or Double long lap penalty: If a rider is given a Long lap penalty or Double long lap penalty due to an infraction (such as overly aggressive riding, unpermitted overtaking or a jump start) TimingPass users will automatically see the update from Race Direction and can monitor the impact of the penalty on the rider’s result.
- Ride through penalty: When a rider repeatedly ignores another penalty (such as a Double long lap penalty) they can be instructed to ride through pit lane, which will see them lose vital time and track positions.
- Customisable data

The data displayed in the MotoGP™ Timingpass can be controlled by the user. So you can filter the on-screen display to show data of the riders you want to follow most closely and create your own watchlist.
- Tyre Info

The MotoGP™ Timingpass gives an exclusive insight into each riders’ tyre strategy and status, which has a huge influence on how well they can ride in a session or race. Fans will be able to see which tyre type each rider is using on their front and rear wheel (e.g. harder or softer tyres, or slick or rain tyres), the number of laps that have been run with the current tyres the rider is using and tyre pressure status. This gives an early indication on what might be winning or losing strategies and what might lie ahead in the race!
- Multi-Device Compatibility

Fans can enjoy the experience of MotoGP™ Timingpass on the device of their choice – a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile (iOS & Android apps included!).

In Friday afternoon’s Practice session, you can also follow lap times and rider performance closely, as the riders fight for a top ten position, which will automatically place them in Q2 on Saturday, guaranteeing a place on one of the front four rows of the grid.
New features added to the MotoGP™ TimingPass in 2025
Responding to user feedback MotoGP™ introduced two new features to the TimingPass in 2025, the Sync feature and the Lap Chart.
The Sync feature allows users to manually align their TimingPass live data with their MotoGP™ VideoPass or any video feed they’re using to watch the action, be that from an official broadcaster on television or on a digital platform. This means no more spoilers or seeing lap times before the action is shown on screen. The Sync feature is currently available on web (desktop and mobile), with App support coming soon!
The Lap Chart is a dynamic graph displaying each rider’s position or time on every lap already undertaken, giving fans an easy view of the progress of the riders as the Sprint or race unfolds. Each line represents a rider, helping fans track overtakes and performance as the action happens.
