Biographie

Roman Ramos rode his first minimoto bike at nine years of age and with it won the first regional championship race in which he participated. Scooters and the Copa Bancaja (third overall for two years in a row) were his next steps. For 2005 and 2006 he joined the Aspar team, racing in the Spanish CEV championship with the likes of Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro – now renowned World Champions of MotoGP™ and Moto2™, respectively. On four-stroke machinery, Ramos became the Ninja Cup champion when he was 16, also competed in the Supersport category and then stepped up to the Moto2 tier of the CEV. This accumulated with the title in 2013, riding with Team Stratos. Having already decided to stay on to defend his crown in 2014, Ramos received a call from the QMMF Moto2™ team which resulted in his stepping up to the World Championship alongside Australian Anthony West.
