Sturla Fagerhaug is another graduate of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup – a competition in which he finished runner-up in for the 2009 edition.

The youngster won the 125cc Norwegian Junior Cup before becoming the youngest ever road racing champion in his homeland when he secured the national title in the 125cc category at just 14 years of age.

With his talent clear for all to see, Fagerhaug was inducted into the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2007, improving season upon season until his runner-up spot in 2009, when he finished just two points off winner Jakub Kornfeil.

Four wild card rides in the 2009 World Championship allowed him to become accustomed with some of the European circuits he will visit once more in 2010, in his first full season in the 125cc class with the AirAsia – Sepang International Circuit team.
