Son of successful Finnish Team Manager Aki Ajo, Niklas Ajo made his full World Championship debut with the TT Motion Events Racing team in the 125cc category in 2011. The Finn started competitive riding in 2006 in minimotos, and in 2008 was selected for the Red Bull Rookies Cup, which he balanced with the Finnish 125cc championship. In 2009 he became the youngest rider in history to take his domestic national title and the following season took part in the famed Spanish championship. In 2012 he continued with the TT Motion Events Racing team in the Moto3 category on a KTM, where he finished in 19th. For 2013 he joined the Avant Tecno team with mixed fortunes, whilst 2014 saw him spearhead Husqvarna’s entry into the championship with the Avant Tecno Husqvarna Ajo team. In 2015 he makes a fresh start with RBA Racing Team again on a KTM.
