Marquez Blog: Looking forward to competing again

In his latest boxrepsol.com blog Marc Marquez looks ahead to a vital Motul TT Assen.

Hi everybody!

I can’t wait for Friday to be here and compete. The truth is that I’ve had enough time to rest, but what riders most like is to compete, to race on the track, and this weekend we’re going to race on a circuit that I truly like. On top of that, I have a lot of great memories of the Assen circuit, as it’s where I’ve been able to win in all the categories in which I’ve competed.

During the last few days, I’ve been resting and training. I’ve had the chance to have a great time in Cervera where I made the most of the good weather by going outside and riding my bike with my brother and my friend José Luis.

This means we need to work very hard...

We know that the points that we could gain in the next two races are important for the World Championship. This means that we need to work very hard, just like last year.

Don’t forget that this year, for the first time, the Dutch Grand Prix will take place on Sunday. This is somewhat different for us since we’re used to racing on this track on Saturday.

I must say that once we are in the Netherlands, it will be hard for us to follow the UEFA European Championship as we will be focusing on the GP. With this in mind, I want to take this moment to send all of my support to the Spanish national football team. Thanks to the days off I’ve had, I’ve been watching all the matches, and I can say that the Spanish team is one of the best teams playing in the European Championship at the moment. Iniesta is simply incredible, and I hope he keeps it up, giving a great performance during each match.

Question of the week from Georgina Echevarría
What do you miss most when you are away from home?

Hello Georgina!

When I’m away, what I most miss is that sensation of peace I feel when I’m at home. Being in Cervera with my loved ones is priceless, and I really miss eating snails and the rice that my mother makes. And that is rather important! Ha-ha!

Best wishes,

Marc Marquez
