In 2019, Sterilgarda Max Racing Team will make its World Championship debut with Aron Canet at the realm in the Moto3™ class and in Monte Carlo on Monday 25th February, the team presented their colours.
Canet will be embarking on his fourth Moto3™ World Championship this season and will be switching from Honda to KTM. But with the likes of Team Owner Max Biaggi and Team Manager Peter Oettl behind him in the box, the Spaniard will be hoping he can add to his win and podium tally in 2019.
Max Biaggi, Team Owner: “For both me and the fans, Moto3 is the most exciting category after MotoGP. It is natural for me to start the world adventure from here, for us it is a big step, a dream that comes true, but immediately after the dream comes the programming and the work. From this point of view I feel I can say that we have prepared ourselves, the team is made up of technicians who have great experience in the World Championship. Aron is a rider that I immediately liked for the determination and tenacity, even if you have to learn how to handle the pressure to make the definitive leap in quality, we have chosen KTM, a European brand with great potential.”
Aron Canet: “This for me is the year of revenge, the basics are all there. I found a team prepared and motivated, we immediately established a good feeling in the tests and I think that the support of Max and Peter can give us an extra boost. We clash against historic teams and very strong drivers, in Moto3 a misstep can get you from the podium to the fifteenth place because the fight is always extremely tight. I believe that with commitment and perseverance we can take away some good satisfaction.”
Peter Oettl, Team Manager: “2019 is our debut season but we cannot take it as an excuse. We are supported by high-level partners, we bring an important name to the track and Aron is a rider with the potential of a winner. We prepared well in the tests, the team showed cohesion and great technical preparation: it will be essential to maintain the same level of concentration throughout the Championship.”
