MotoGP™ Fantasy is back in action at the British Grand Prix

As Silverstone sees the end of the summer break, there's plenty to consider as MotoGP™ Fantasy swings back into action

MotoGP™ Fantasy action returns as the summer break comes to a close with the iconic Silverstone Circuit welcoming Round 9 of the Grand Prix calendar. The Championship battle is as close as ever between the top 3, and with the it all to play for there's plenty to consider ahead of MotoGP™ Fantasy at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix.

Who made the Fantasy Dream Team before the summer break?

Having taken an incredible victory last time out at the Motul TT Assen, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was the top dog as he scored more Fantasy points than any other rider. Not only did the Italian pick up the Grand Prix victory, but he also finished 2nd place in the Tissot Sprint to bag himself 46 MotoGP™ Fantasy points.

Breathing down the neck of the Ducati golden boy was his championship rival Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team). The Italian finished a close 2nd to his Ducati counterpart, bagging himself the 2nd spot in the Fantasy Dream Team after coming away from Assen with 42.5 Fantasy points.

Joining the two Italians in the Dream Team was Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing). The Spaniard was the best pick for a silver rider in Assen as a top 4 in the Tissot Sprint, as well as a podium in the race, bagged the Aprilia "Captain" 33.5 MotoGP™ Fantasy points.

Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) wasn't far behind as he joined his compatriot as a silver rider in the Assen Dream Team. Despite starting from the fourth row, the Prima Pramac man managed to fight his way to 6th place in the Tissot Sprint before grabbing an important top 5 in the race to mount up a total of 32 Fantasy points.

Everything to consider ahead of MotoGP™ Fantasy at Silverstone...

As attentions turn to the Monster Energy British Grand Prix, there's plenty to consider in the search for the MotoGP™ Fantasy Dream Team. Gamers have the opportunity to make two changes to their team in hopes of forming the dream lineup for the iconic Silverstone Circuit.

Francesco Bagnaia is always a safe bet at any circuit on the MotoGP™ calendar. The Italian and the Ducati have consistently proved themselves as the perfect combination, and on a fine run of form, you get plenty of bang for your buck at 4.5M. The Champion goes into the weekend as the favourite, having taken victory in Silverstone in 2022.

One rider who will be eager to dethrone the Champion and is currently riding the crest of a wave is Marco Bezzecchi. Priced 3.4M, the Italian showed incredible form in Assen ahead of the summer break seeing him leapfrog Jorge Martin to 2nd place in Championship to keep himself safely in title fight. The new-kid-on-the-block will be eager to continue this form and get the better of his title rivals as the second half of the season gets underway.

Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) cannot be discounted either. Ducati's hot prospect might have slipped back to 3rd in the standings, but the Spaniard heads into the weekend with fire in his belly as he sits just one point adrift from Bezzecchi in 2nd. Martin showed strong form in Assen to fly his way into the top 5 from the fourth row, as well taking victory at the Sachsenring one weekend prior. Priced at 3.5M, you wouldn't put it past the Prima Pramac man to score big in Silverstone.

The two Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders of Brad Binder and Jack Miller cannot be discounted either, and priced at 3.0M and 2.4M could be strong choices for your MotoGP™ Fantasy team. Both riders have shown strong form this year, and with the unpredictable weather conditions in Silverstone, you wouldn’t put it past the KTM squad to be in victory contention come rain or shine.

Equally, the Aprilia's can never be discounted, and with the fast-flowing nature of the Silverstone circuit suiting the bike's characteristics, Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) and Aleix Espargaro could very well be in the mix when the lights go out, giving a cheaper alternative at 1.8M and 2.6M respectively.

Where to look for manufacturer glory?

As ever, Ducati have to be the manufacturer of choice ahead of the weekend's action. With more bikes on the grid than anyone else and a plethora of fast riders onboard them, at 4M the Bologna bullets guarantee success for your MotoGP™ Fantasy Team. However, at just 2M Aprilia are a strong option too with KTM also never to be discounted at 2.7M.

With everything to play for, history beckons for MotoGP™ at what promises to be an unforgettable weekend in Silverstone. Make sure to join in on all the MotoGP™ Fantasy  action throughout the weekend, and ensure you don't miss a thing with the action underway from Friday, 3rd August on motogp.com
