The five-time World Champion attempted to ride his GP18 in FP1 at the Twin Ring Motegi, but immediately pulled back into pitlane to rule him out of the Motul Grand Prix of Japan. Subsequently, with the injury not healing as quickly as the Spaniard would have hoped, Lorenzo will now miss the Australian GP too in order to be as fit as possible for the final flyaway race in Malaysia.
