With the unpredictability of Day 2 at the Automotodrom Brno and the Czech Republic weather, race day looks set to be dry, allowing everyone the chance to be just as competitive as Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team), who was dominant in the wet. But in the dry, it is a completely different ball game, with riders out of position and riders set to challenge the reigning Champion under the sun.
Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) was the leading Ducati and has shone in both wet and dry conditions. Starting from second place, Miller will look to use the power of the Ducati to blast his way into the lead on the run down to Turn 1, in a bid to seriously challenge Marquez. Fellow Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) goes from fourth, a strong position to challenge for victory from. Having won at Brno last season, ‘DesmoDovi’ can’t be ruled out.

Starting his challenge from the final position on the second row, Alex Rins (Team Suzuki ECSTAR) has shown before that on race day, he can be the rider to surge through the field. One place behind him and heading up row three, it was a better qualifying showing from Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) – ‘The Doctor’ looking for a return to the podium he was last on in the United States. His teammate, Maverick Viñales, will go from ninth on the grid. His dry weather pace is looking strong, so if he can get a good start then he may well be one to keep an eye on. Former Czech Grand Prix winner, Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol), starts in 11th.
There’s five manufacturers in the top seven positions on the grid, so anything could happen in the dry or wet tomorrow. With the forecast predicting a sun-soaked Brno and not a rain-soaked Czech venue, it would be another thrilling premier class encounter.
