A king reborn! International media react to Marquez' victory

The Repsol Honda rider put an end to a 581 day wait for victory, and the world's press stood up and took notice of his incredible comeback

Victory after 581 days of waiting is certainly worth talking about, and that’s what much of the media around the sporting world are doing in the aftermath of Marc Marquez’ (Repsol Honda Team) spectacular victory at the German GP.

One of the sport’s household names, the eight-time World Champion made a triumphant return to the top step at the Sachsenring, to make it 11 straight wins and defend his King of the Ring title. It has been a long, hard and well-publicized road to recovery, with tears of joy shed as he ended a two-year wait for victory and completed one of sport’s greatest comebacks.

Marquez’ heroics garnered plenty of headlines, with French publication L’Equipe declaring him "King", while also sharing some positive words on Championship leader Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), who earned yet another podium as he extended his title lead.
