What do Fernandez and Ogura need to do to win Moto2™ title?

Just 9.5 points separate the two riders, with quite a few permutations in play in Valencia

One of the two titles on the line this weekend in Valencia, Moto2™ are awaiting a new name to ascend to the throne and reign in the intermediate class. Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo) holds the advantage following Ai Ogura’s (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) Sepang slip-up.

The Japanese rider looked set for a comfortable P2 in Malaysia but a last lap overtake attempt for the race lead saw him crash out of contention and hand the initiative back to Fernandez, with the Spaniard now 9.5 points clear atop the title standings.

With one race to go and a maximum of 25 points on offer, we’ve broken out the calculators to go through all the permutations so you don’t have to, and this is what both riders need to happen in order to take the title.
