At the same time as Gresini Racing MotoGP™ announced Alex Marquez will be staying with the team for the 2024 premier class campaign, the Italian team also confirmed another piece of important news.
That news is Gresini Racing will continue as a Ducati Independent Team until at least the end of 2025, as the Italian duo put pen to paper to extend their current contract. It’s been a successful partnership thus far, with their most recent achievement being Alex Marquez’s Tissot Sprint victory at the British GP. Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) won four races and finished third in the World Championship in 2022, and the Gresini-Ducati partnership is one that looks set to continue bearing fruit.
“We are delighted to continue to have the Gresini Racing MotoGP team in the Ducati family for two more seasons. They are an extremely professional outfit and, over the years, have shown that they have the potential to aspire to great results,” said Gigi Dall’Igna in Gresini’s press release announcing Marquez.
“Last year they scored four beautiful victories with our Desmosedici GP machine, and this season they clinched a podium, a pole position, and a win in the last GP Sprint with Alex Marquez. We are sure that together we will achieve more success in the future and continue to grow race by race.”
It remains to be seen who will be racing alongside Marquez on a Gresini-painted Ducati in 2024.
