Marco Bezzecchi cleared to continue competing in Indonesia

The Mooney VR46 rider took a tumble through the gravel trap during FP1 and had to undergo further assessment on his recent collarbone injury

Fresh from his recent journey from Europe after an operation on his collarbone, Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) received the green light to take to the track for the opening session of the weekend at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Mandalika. However, the Italian rider was subject to another round of medical assessment at the end of FP1, especially in light of his unfortunate spill at Turn 11.

Nevertheless, fans can breathe easy as Bezzecchi has been declared fit for the weekend's running, with the #72 confirming as much during an appearance on 'Inside the Paddock' with Jack Appleyard. It will come as a massive boost for 'Bez', who still harbours title ambitions but currently sits 54 points adrift of Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team). He will continue in his attempts to reel in the title frontrunners on Friday afternoon during Practice, with Q2 places up for grabs from 15:00 local time (GMT +8).
