The TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands is always a special weekend in MotoGP, having been coming here since 1949. No other venue has hosted more and this year, there’s a special celebration with 100 years of the Dutch TT in what is an unmissable annual event. To make it extra special off-track, a whole host of events get the weekend off to a mega start on Thursday, making this year’s Assen visit one that’ll live long in the memory for all fans.
HERO WALK: meet your heroes!
Our Hero Walk begins on Saturday where you can grab a selfie or an autograph with the Moto3™ and Moto2™ stars from 11:45. There’ll also be the MotoGP Riders’ Parade at 10:00 on Sunday morning, followed by their Hero Walk. With this being the Marquez brothers’ spiritual home as well as another chance for the Spanish riders to lay down the gauntlet at home, expect fireworks right the way through the weekend.
A SPECIAL WEEKEND: Two Wheels for Life in full force
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Assen, Two Wheels for Life having something special lined up. Thursday is MotoGP Experience Day, with fans welcomed into the paddock to be immersed in the world of MotoGP, whilst there's a pitlane walk to enjoy too. From 18:00, a charity auction will take place, full of exciting items, taking place at the Motul stage. Likewise on the Saturday after the Tissot Sprint, there’ll be another auction with free entry to ticket holders.
Fanzone Q&As: big names headline epic off-track weekend
As ever, the Fanzone is your place for all the off-track excitement. On Thursday, it really is a star-studded line-up as all of the top five riders will be on stage throughout the evening, with Championship leader Marc Marquez first up at 18:00 with teammate Francesco Bagnaia. Saturday's schedule is also busy and again, starts at 17:30 with 2020 World Champion Joan Mir kicking it off. Home-hero in Moto2 and coming close to victory in Moto3 at Assen last year, Collin Veijer takes to the stage at 18:10. After all this, party the evening away with a live DJ set before Sunday action commences.
