国際モーターサイクリズム連盟は、７月２４日にチャンピオンシップの７８シーズン目となる２０２６年の暫定開催日程を発表。
２０２５年に続き全２２戦の開催が計画され、開幕戦は２年連続のタイ。第２戦はブラジル。２００４年以来２２年ぶりの開催となり、改修工事が実施されているアウトードロモ・インテルナシオナウ・アイルトン・セナで初開催。サーキットのホモロゲーション取得が開催の条件となり、今年開催日程に復帰したハンガリーとチェコは６月に開催。
日本は１９９９年から継続開催するモビリティリゾートもてぎで１０月２日から４日に開催。２年連続してオーバーシーズの緒戦となり、最終戦はバレンシア。
２０２５年に続き、３連戦は実施されず、２連戦は８回。
