Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) was celebrated by fans after the Thai GP with the 'Qatar Airways Best Take Off' award, recognising his impressive start in the race at Buriram. He surged from sixth place into contention for podium positions in just a single turn.
Despite his excellent start, the 2021 World Champion suffered an early crash with Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) while trying to stay in the Top 5, taking advantage of the rain at the Chang International Circuit, which slightly helped mitigate the challenges posed by his M1. The Frenchman managed to rejoin and finish P16. Nevertheless, the bitter outcome for Quartararo did not overshadow his outstanding performance in the early laps, which earned him the accolade from fans.
