The Dutch GP will live long in the memory, but was it the greatest race in modern MotoGP™ history?

Astonishing. One of the countless words to describe the 2018 Dutch GP, which saw eight riders produce one of the best races of the modern MotoGP™ era - 100+ overtakes, six different leaders and 26 laps of pulsating racing. But was it the best ever?

Below are four races, including Assen, which have also produced some of the premier class’ most exhilarating battles since 2002.

Estoril - 2006

With a Championship title on the line for Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi and Honda’s Nicky Hayden, the penultimate race of the 2006 season was a true classic. Dani Pedrosa took out teammate Hayden in dramatic fashion with Rossi leading the race, only for Kenny Roberts Jr and the satellite Honda of Toni Elias to catch Rossi and Colin Edwards to produce a stunning four-rider battle, in which Elias incredibly beat Rossi to the line by 0.002 seconds.

Phillip Island – 2015

Another race that had huge implications was the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, with Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi locked in a Championship battle. Ducati’s Andrea Iannone and Honda’s Marc Marquez joined the two in a four-way battle on the Island, with the aftermath sending shockwaves through the paddock...

Phillip Island – 2017

Yet more incredible racing on the Island, this time two years later. Again, another Championship battle was raging but this time it was between Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso. Dovi would eventually cross the line in P13 after a costly mistake at Turn 1, with Marquez winning an epic seven rider scrap for the victory.

Assen – 2018

Eight riders, five race leaders, 100+ overtakes and another incredible save. The 2018 Dutch GP had it all, but will this get your vote for the greatest race ahead of the others?
