Fenati fastest as Assen warms up

Moto3™ opened proceedings under clear skies in Assen, Fenati leading an unlikely top three in Warm Up.

The sun may have been out but it was far from hot during Warm Up for the Moto3™ World Championship. Romano Fenati (SKY Racing Team VR46) ended the brief 20 minute session fastest with a 1’42.955. This put the Italian 0.199s ahead of Gabriel Rodrigo (RBA Racing Team) and Jules Danilo (Ongetta-Rivacold).

Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini Racing Moto3) and Francesco Bagnaia (Aspar Mahindra Team Moto3) completed the top five. With forecasts predicting rain at midday, will the lightweight class escape a wet race or could we see a repeat of Argentina’s drama?

Championship leader Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) was sixth fastest and won’t be taking any risks in the race as his closest rival, Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0) is out of the weekend due to a broken leg.

Darryn Binder (Platinum Bay Real Estate) crashed at Turn 17, unharmed but limiting his track time. John McPhee (Peugeot MC Saxoprint) and Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Estrella Galicia 0,0) also had falls.
