Barbera: “Germany is a good place to reach our goals”

It’s been a good year for Hector Barbera, but he is hoping for a great end to the year.

In Assen Hector Barbera (Avintia Racing) took his sixth top ten finish of the 2016 MotoGP™ World Championship. At this same stage in 2015 the Spaniard had never once ended a race inside the top ten, the regulation changes giving Barbera and his team a huge boost. Despite the clear improvement in results, Barbera is still hoping for more and is ready to attack in Germany to continue his perfect run of point scoring finishes. His best result at the Sachsenring in the premier class is ninth, achieved in both 2010 and 2012, and took to the podium twice in the smaller capacity classes.

Time off between the two rounds gave Hector Barbera a chance to meet all the Ducatisti at World Ducati Week. Whilst there he took part in the traditional drag race and got closer than ever to the thousands of Ducati fans. Meeting such passionate people gave Barbera a boost and helped him to train extra hard before Germany.

Hector Barbera: “This race will mark the middle of the season and, although we did score some decent results, I feel that we can get even further and Germany is a good place to reach our goals. Sachsenring is a track I like and I think that with the right work on the set up, it is also a good track for my bike. During the last two weeks I’ve been able to train hard and I confront this race with a lot of physical and mental strength. After Assen, I went to Misano for the WDW. I enjoyed it a lot and it was great to see the passion of thousands of Ducatisti and to feel their support.”
