Rabat: “I am fully fit and prepared for Sachsenring”

Time away from racing has given Tito Rabat’s collarbone a chance to heal fully, the Spaniard fighting fit for Germany.

Assen was a tough weekend for even the most experienced riders in the MotoGP™ World Championship, the likes of Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) having a tough time cracking the top ten. Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) salvaged 11th, his second point scoring finish since breaking his collarbone in Mugello. Progress has been steady throughout 2016 for rookie Rabat who’s hoping to go well at the Sachsenring, a track which suits the RC213V. A Honda has won the German GP every year since 2009, could Rabat emulate his teammate and take a sensational victory?

Rabat himself doesn't have the best record at the Sachsenring, fourth in the 2014 Moto2™ World Championship his best result. As ever, Rabat was back out in Almeria between races to work on a variety of different skills. From sliding to riding in the wet, the Spaniard tried it all. Like Assen, the Sachsenring has frequently been hit by rain so this training could come in very helpful.

Tito Rabat: “I am happy with my performances since coming back from my collarbone injury in Mugello. I struggled a lot in Montmelo but still scored points and I was lacking power in the changes of direction in Assen and still managed to ride very well. I am fully fit and prepared for Sachsenring now, which will end the opening half of my first MotoGP season. I have gained a lot of experience in the first races and it has been a case of learning as much as I can to help me be more competitive. I think the character of the track, the Honda and my riding style could be a good combination this weekend, so I am hoping to be fighting for my best result of the season so far.”
