Dovizioso: “The Austrian track adapts very well to our bike”

Ducati Team rider shares his thoughts on the Red Bull Ring

After a run of bad luck early in the season, Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) heads into the second half of 2016 ready to turn the intrinsic, proven pace of the Desmosedici GP into big points hauls. Ducati machinery dominated the timing screens during the recent test at the new layout of the Red Bull Ring – although Repsol Honda were a notable absence – and the stage seems set for the veteran Italian to mount more challenges for the podium as the NeroGiardini Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich puts the brakes on the summer break.

"We will have to see what tyres Michelin will bring for the GP..."

Andrea Dovizioso: “The Austrian track adapts very well to our bike, with first and second gear acceleration and medium-long straights, and so for us it is quite easy to be fast. Even though we were very competitive in the tests, we will have to see what tyres Michelin will bring for the GP, because wear is very high here, you slide around a lot and the tyres will struggle to complete a race distance.”
