Pedrosa two seconds faster on Saturday

Repsol Honda rider looking for more and ready for the race

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) had a nightmare start to the NeroGiardini Grand Prix von Österreich as the Spaniard suffered a crash without warning on one of his first runs on the new Red Bull Ring. After struggling to get temperature into the tyres in the afternoon, the Sabadell native has taken a leap forward on Saturday to go through to Q2 – two seconds faster. There is still work to be done however, as Pedrosa looks to turn his P12 start position into a much higher race result.

Dani Pedrosa (P12): “With today’s higher temperatures, we were able to take a step forward from yesterday and I lowered my lap by two seconds, although it was a shame not to get into the 1’23 range. Even if I expected a better result, we’ll try to concentrate, get as much confidence as possible and be positive. We will look for possible solutions for the race; our intention is to go out and give everything we have and get references that help us to move forward. We want to improve this dynamic as soon as possible; the rider is the one who can contribute the most, so I want to do as well as possible.”
