Miller ruled out for Brno

Australian unable to ride at the Czech GP following crash in Austria

Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Jack Miller will be unable to compete in the HJC Helmets Ceské Republiky in Brno this weekend, as the Australian has been ruled out of the event following a crash in morning Warm Up at the Red Bull Ring. Miller sustained hairline fractures to his T6 vertebra and wrist in the highside, and was initially ruled fit for Brno before later withdrawing from the event.

Miller was passed fit but the EG 0,0 Marc VDS team have decided, in conjunction with HRC and Miller’s management, to withdraw the Assen GP winner from the race weekend in Brno. The decision is to ensure the maximum possible recovery time for both injuries, ahead of a return to the grid at the British GP at Silverstone.

Michael Bartholemy, Team Principal: "Jack is a racer, so he obviously wanted to race after being passed fit today. However, after discussions with both HRC and Jack's management team, we have made the decision to withdraw him from the Czech Grand Prix. For us it's more important that he has more time to recover from the crash in Austria, because we want him back to full fitness as soon as possible. Our priority is to have a fully fit rider back on the bike and that's why we made this decision."
