Lüthi : “I hope to be back for Silverstone”

Swiss rider recovering in Switzerland after highside crash in Brno

After a huge highside in the last few minutes of the qualifying session for the intermediate class at the Automotodrom Brno, Thomas Lüthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) was declared unfit for the Czech Moto2™ race the following day. The Garage Plus Interwetten Team Manager, Fred Corminboeuf, explained the situation on Sunday:

Fred Corminboeuf: “Tom spent the night under observation and left the hospital on Sunday morning. He has to rest, which is why he stayed in the hotel when we were organising his return to Switzerland. His headache is still severe and the pain in his elbow also, but he did not suffer any fractures. After such a concussion - the Swiss rider was unconscious for a minute on Saturday - you need to be careful. That is why he is going to undergo further radiographic examinations upon his arrival to the country. We will see, based on how quickly he can recover, if he can participate in the next British Grand Prix in two weeks' time."

Tom Lüthi: “After the accident on Saturday I was not able to start the Grand Prix in Brno. I need time due to the concussion and multiple bruises. I hope to be back in Silverstone and I would like to say thanks to everyone, my family, my team and my fans for their support in these difficult moments.”
