Redding powers up for the #BritishGP

Home rider looking forward to laying it on the line at the Octo British Grand Prix

Scott Redding (Octo Pramac Yakhnich) is the home rider who has the best record at Silverstone Circuit. Adding to his record-breaking 125 win in the British GP in 2008 at Donington Park, the change of venue for the race weekend hasn't dampened Redding's run, with a Moto2™ podium at Silverstone in 2012 after a duel with Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team), followed by a commanding win the following year in the same championship. In MotoGP™, Redding has continued his good run at his home race, including a P6 finish in 2015 in the wet - coming home just behind Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) and Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team). 2016 has seen a good trajectory of results for the Brit in his new Octo Pramac Yakhnich team, including a podium in Assen, and Redding is motivated to race in front of his fans once again.

"Silverstone is one of my favourite tracks on the calendar."

Scott Redding: "We've had consistency in improvements which has been better. We were just a bit unlucky at the start of the season with some mechanical problems and some tyre issues, but then in Assen we had a podium, in Sachsenring we were close to the podium so that was really nice. I'm looking forward to the second half of this season to just show the potential we had at the beginning and try and put it into the race. My home GP is one of my favourite tracks on the calendar and also in front of my home crowd with all my fans there is unbelievable. It's a weekend that no one else can live except me or the other British riders. I'm looking forward to it because it's a bit of a Ducati circuit also, and we're strong in rainy and mixed conditions, which is possible in Silverstone. And also in the dry, we can be quite competitive there I think."
