Bagnaia tops FP1 at the #BritishGP

Italian leads the way as track action gets underway

Despite a few spots of rain ahead of the first practice session for the Octo British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit, Moto3™ got out on track with the surface dry and ready to get to work. It was Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0) who took early control of the session, as the Spaniard returns to the venue that saw him record his first pole position in 2015, before Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Brad Binder struck back to take over at the top. It was again Navarro who deposed the South African with twenty minutes remaining, before Francesco Bagnaia (PULL&BEAR Aspar Mahindra) took to the top of the table.

Fourth fastest was Red Bull KTM Ajo rookie Bo Bendsneyder, ahead of Jorge Martin (PULL&BEAR Aspar Mahindra) fresh from the podium in Brno. Leopard Racing's Fabio Quartararo was sixth fastest, ahead of Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold) as the Italian fights back to full fitness after a more difficult start to the season. Austrian GP winner Joan Mir (Leopard Racing) was in P8, ahead of the Italian Gresini Racing Moto3 duo of rookie Fabio DiGiannantonio and Enea Bastianini.

Winner last time out in the wet Czech GP John McPhee (Peugeot MC Saxoprint) had tough start to his home GP, with a crash at Turn 5 in the opening session - rider ok.

Moto3™ are back out for another free practice session on Friday afternoon, before Saturday dawns with qualifying.
