Some interesting things to know before the intermediate class get back on track

- Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) has had three podium finishes at Misano: second in the 125cc race in 2011 (when he also qualified on pole), third in the Moto2™ race in 2014, and a win from pole position last year.

- Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) won the Moto3™ race at Misano in both 2013 and 2014. Last year he qualified in second place on the grid of the Moto2™ race at Misano then crashed while fighting for the lead, re-started but was subsequently shown the black flag.

- Tom Luthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) has had a single podium finish at the Misano circuit - third in the Moto2™ race in 2010. Last year Luthi finished 10th at Misano after finishing the first lap down in 18th position. After his win at Silverstone he will be aiming for back-to-back wins of the first time in his grand prix career.

- Sam Lowes (Gresini Racing Moto2) has failed to score points in his previous two visits to Misano; he finished 18th two years ago and last year he retired from the race after suffering rear tyre failure.

- In addition to Johann Zarco and Alex Rins mentioned above, three other riders currently competing full-time in the Moto2™ class have had grand prix wins at Misano Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP) in Moto3™ in 2012, Julian Simon (QMMF Racing Team) in 125s in 2009 and Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) in 125 in 2008.

- The best results for Jonas Folger (Dynavolt Intact GP) at Misano are sixth place finishes in the Moto3™ race in 2012 and the Moto2™ race last year. He qualified on pole for the Moto3™ race at Misano in 2013, then crashed out on the fourth lap when battling for the lead.

- Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) has finished on the podium at Misano twice in the last three years in the Moto2™ class: second in 2013 and third last year.
