Lorenzo: "All in all it wasn't a good day"

Reigning world champion P7 on Day 1 and looking to move forward

Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) took victory at MotorLand Aragon in 2014 and 2015 - one wet and one dry - but the defender of the crown had a more difficult first day at the Aragonese office than some of his contemporaries in 2016. MotorLand, traditionally a track more suited to Yamaha's rivals, was dominated by the orange bikes of Repsol Honda on Day 1 - but Lorenzo also suffered some tyre issues in the first sessions of the weekend and will be looking to piece together the puzzle with no problems on Saturday.

Jorge Lorenzo (P7): "In the morning it wasn‘t bad, I probably had the second fastest pace, but I had a bad rear tyre. in the afternoon we struggled and we tried various different tyres. The front medium tyres gave a lot of vibrations in the corners and the other option, the softer one from the morning that had a lot of laps, was the one that gave me good confidence in the last free practice. All in all it wasn‘t a good day. Tomorrow we want to try a new setting and improve the electronics and let‘s see if we can be much faster."
