Hernandez just misses out on a point

Colombian rider completed the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon in P16 after promising start

Yonny Hernandez (Pull&Bear Aspar Team) had a frustrating afternoon on Sunday at Aragon, as he faded from 11th early in the race to 16th on the finish line. The Colombian had started in 15th on the grid and got away well on his Ducati machine to make up four positions in the early running, but as the race progressed his grip levels dropped such that he fell back through the pack.

Yonny Hernandez: “I focused on getting a good start and obviously got away well. We are competitive for as long as the tyre lasts and for half of the race today I was fighting in the top eleven, which is the positive we can take away from this round. Obviously there is a problem because once the tyre drops off the bike starts sliding and I can't move forward.

“From mid-race onwards all I could do was manage the advantage I had. It is frustrating because you feel trapped and even though you know that you can go faster you are getting passed by everybody because there is no grip. However, we know that when we do have grip, we can be fighting in the top ten.”
