Redding: “My race pace wasn’t so good at the beginning”

Brit takes a top ten in Japan just a fraction behind teammate Petrucci

Scott Redding (Octo Pramac Yakhnich) had a solid weekend at the Twin Ring Motegi to finish the race in P9, but the Brit found his race rhythm too late to be able to launch an attack on teammate Danilo Petrucci ahead on track. Nevertheless, Redding had a positive weekend after some more difficult results, and now heads south to Australia for Phillip Island ready to do it all again.

Scott Redding (P9): “Unfortunately my race pace wasn’t so good at the beginning and this has penalized me a little. Then I found a good rhythm and I started to reduce the gap. I had some problems especially in braking and I was not able to get close enough to launch an attack on Danilo. But I'm happy because I got a lot of experience after the last difficult races, working on maps, improving the feeling with the tyres. In the end it was a good weekend.”
