Bendsneyder: “Getting on the podium again is incredible”

Dutch rookie takes his second rostrum of the year in Malaysia

Bo Bendsneyder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) had never ridden at Sepang Internation Circuit until FP1 on Friday of the Malaysian GP, but the ever-impressive 2015 Red Bull Rookies champion took a second podium finish of the year in a race that saw high rates of attrition – even for experienced teammate Brad Binder. Bendsneyder, who had overtaken Jakub Kornfeil (Drive M7 SIC Racing Team) for P2 on track, was then classified third in the final standings after the race was red-flagged, as positions over the line for the last completed lap had seen the Czech rider ahead.

Bo Bendsneyder (P3): "I am very happy to finish the Malaysian Grand Prix with my second podium of the season. I was riding behind Jakub [Kornfeil] for a few laps and was able to pass him on the final laps. It's a shame because in the end, due to the red flag, we went back to the previous lap for the final standings -where I was third. It's a pity, but getting on the podium again -at a circuit where I had never ridden before- is something incredible. I want to thank the team for all the work they have done over the weekend. Now we want to finish the season in Valencia with another good result."
