Syahrin in the top five at Sepang

Home hero fifth at a weather-hit Malaysian GP

Hafizh Syahrin (Petronas Raceline Malaysia) is known as ‘Pescao’ for his wet weather prowess - including a podium in the wet at home in 2012 - and the Malaysian had another fantastic ride at his ‘local’ track, crossing the line in P5. Coming back from further down the top ten, the Petronas Raceline Malaysia rider fought off Alex Marquez (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) and Tom Lüthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) to take the place and prove a home hero once again for a sell-out crowd.

Hafizh Syahrin (P5): "The race was quite difficult for me. I almost fell but I could control the situation and continue to pursue other riders. I wanted to race to get a place on the podium. However, it was difficult because of the need to be careful challenging Marquez and Luthi. I'm still happy to get the points at home. Thank you, Malaysians!”
