After the planned final round of the Spanish RFME Flat Track Cup was cancelled with a view to rescheduling, it has been recently announced that the finale will sadly not be rearranged in 2016 – meaning Ferran Cardus is confirmed as Champion in the FlatTrack Pro category, with a 16 point advantage over Franc Serra and 25 over eventual third-place finisher Nico Terol. Former 125 World Champion Terol was the early leader in the series, before Cardus took over and eventually achieved the title.
After a close year of competition, Cardus - as winner of the FlatTrack Pro class - will be invited by American Flat Track, AFT Championship promoters, to take part in the opening round of the AFT series on the new Daytona TT Circuit in March 2017- with the bike provided. In addition, the top two finishers in the Master (veterans) Class will participate in the “100 Kilometers of the Ranch” organized in Italy by MotoGP™ icon Valentino Rossi, and two riders from the Rookies class will take part in the Superprestigio event in Barcelona, on the 17th December at the Palau Sant Jordi.
