SIC Racing Team ready to fight it out in Jerez

Norrodin and Sasaki prepared to kick off the European season

Heading to the Circuito de Jerez in Spain for the first European round of the 2017 season, SIC Racing Team riders Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki are more motivated than ever for a strong performance on familiar terrain.

Following two difficult Grands Prix overseas, Norrodin and Sasaki are determined to return to their competitive ways and fighting form previously shown at the first race of the year in Qatar.

Looking to add more points to his debut Championship tally, Moto3 rookie Ayumu Sasaki is raring to return to the circuit that has previously seen him step up onto the podium with both a win and second place result in the 2016 Red Bull Rookies Cup.

Determined to start strong, Adam Norrodin heads to Spain eager to settle for no less than a top ten result. Following his solid performance at the opening round, the Malaysian rider is confident his experience and improved riding style will give him a good advantage at Jerez.

Adam Norrodin: “For Jerez I’m feeling confident as we had quite a positive test there at the beginning of the year. We already have a good base setting to work from, so it will be good to start FP1 with a reference; we know what we must do to go fast from the beginning. The track is quite technical with many corners but the Honda works well there. For sure we must improve this weekend. Our performance in Argentina and Austin was not good enough, so now we have to push even harder to show what we are capable of. I don’t think we will have to change much with the bike as we already have all the data collected from the test, so this round is very much down to me to get dialled in with my riding quickly, find a good rhythm and push hard! I know I can be competitive at Jerez. Top ten is the aim and points are a must!”

Ayumu Sasaki: “I’m really looking forward to racing at a track I already know, so I can’t wait to get started at Jerez on Friday! I raced at Jerez in the Red Bull Rookies Cup and we also tested there in March this year, so I know the track well. It suits my style and is definitely one of my favourite tracks! I know we can come back strong at this next GP. I have won races at Jerez before, so I’m confident we can have a good weekend. My crew are always working hard, so together I think we can do a very good job in Jerez. I have learned many things from Argentina and Austin, which were two very difficult races for us, so I know what I need to do to improve. We were strong in Qatar and we can be like this again in Spain. The aim is simple; focus, work hard and push for a strong result.”
