Marquez praises positives of #JerezTest

Busy day of 96 laps for the reigning Champion, finishing the day in P2

Fresh from a podium on Sunday, Repsol Honda Team rider Marc Marquez was back out on track on Monday in the Official Test at the Circuito de Jerez, and put in 96 laps on the day – testing everything from a new front tyre from Michelin to a new exhaust on his RC213V.

Second by the end of the day with a 1:38.637, only 0.002 behind Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), the rider from Cervera is happy with how it went – and had a positive opinion the new front tyre.

Marc Marquez, P2: “I’m very happy with how the day went. We did 96 laps and didn’t even stop to eat. We had to do a lot of laps with the new exhaust to do different tests. We also tried the new Michelin front tyre, which is more like the one from last year – you can feel the bumps more but you have more grip. I like it, there are more possibilities. We’ll see if we’ll use it this year. We’ve had a lot of positives.”

Marquez: "We made a few steps fowards, especially with tyres"
