Viñales: “Le Mans is a good track for us”

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider ready to get back in the podium fight in France

Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) took his first ever GP win in the 125 race in 2011 at Le Mans, as well as his first MotoGP™ podium in 2016 – making the Bugatti Circuit a perfect stage for the winner of the first two races of the year to bounce back from a more difficult Spanish GP.

Viñales was sixth in Spain after struggling with tyres, but still cut the gap to teammate Valentino Rossi at the top of the standings down to only two points – so with a positive Jerez test under his belt, positivity is the buzz word ahead of Le Mans.

Maverick Viñales: “The race in Jerez was very difficult for us. Now we have to understand about what happened and try to improve this weekend at the Le Mans circuit. Luckily during the test on Monday in Jerez we had a totally different result, it was a really good test. For that reason we're arriving in France with a positive mind. Le Mans is a good track for us, it suits my riding style, and we can do a really good job there.”
