Moto2™: Warm Up and Sunday Guide

A few things to know ahead of the race for the intermediate class

Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) went fastest in Warm Up, ahead of Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) and Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS). For full results, click here!

Sunday Guide:

- Morbidelli will start from pole position for the third time this season. He will be aiming to win his fifth race of the season. He would become the first rider to do so in the six opening rounds since Daijiro Kato in 2001.

- Márquez qualified in second on the grid, his seventh front row start in 41 Moto2™ appearances.

- Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) will complete the front row of the grid, for the third time in Moto2™. He won his last race here in Mugello back in 2009 in the 250cc class. He will be aiming to get his first Moto2™ podium 86 Moto2™ starts.

- Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) will head the second row on the grid. With Lorenzo Baldassarri, Simone Corsi and Dominique Aegerter, he is one of only four riders on the current grid to have stood on the podium at this track in Moto2™.

- Nakagami qualified in fifth, his best qualifying result since he was fourth in Austin this year. His best result in Mugello is a seventh place back in 2012.

- Luca Marini (Forward Racing Team) will start from sixth on the grid, his second successive second row start after starting from fourth in Le Mans. He will be aiming to get his first podium in Moto2™.

- Heading the third row is Jorge Navarro (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2), his best qualifying result so far in his rookie year in Moto2™.

- Lorenzo Baldassarri (Forward Racing Team) qualified in eighth, equalling his best result so far this year. He stood on the podium last year in Mugello, just behind eventual Champion Johann Zarco.

- Remy Gardner (Tech 3 Racing) will start from 11th on the grid, his best qualifying result since Sepang last year and the second best of his career so far.
