Rabat: “Each race I've finished I’ve been in the points"

…and it was another solid finish in Barcelona, followed by a very positive test on Monday

Tito Rabat (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) got another solid finish in the Catalan GP, taking P15 in front of the home crowd to add another point to his growing total in 2017. Passing Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuk Ecstar) with two laps to go, Rabat used his solid race pace to his advantage - despite some struggles earlier in the race in traffic - to take his third consecutive scoring finish.

Tito Rabat: “I would have liked a better result at my home race and I tried 100% but it was not possible. I was feeling more comfortable towards the end of the race and the good thing is today I finished 40 seconds to the winner when last year I was one minute behind, so better by 20 seconds. Each race I have finished this season I’ve been in the points but my problem is having the pace to overtake other riders early in the race.”

With race day over, it was then back on track for a day of testing - with some big positives found ahead of the next race in Assen as the EG 0,0 Marc VDS rider was P9 after 59 laps. So positive was the work, the notoriously dedicated racer even ended the session a little early!

Tito Rabat: "We had the chance to try a lot of things on the bike today; suspension, geometry and electronics in particular, with some positive results. We now have a good direction for Assen, even if it is a very different track to Barcelona. I'm happy with what we've achieved here and now I'm looking forward to some down time after two busy race weekends, to recharge the batteries before heading to Assen next week."
