Vierge joins Dynavolt Intact GP for 2018

Spaniard moves to the German outfit for next season after an impressive first half of 2017

Dynavolt Intact GP have announced Xavi Vierge as part of their rider line up next season, after the Spaniard has put in some incredible performances so far in 2017. The 20-year-old was Moto2™ Rookie of the Year last season on the Tech 3 Mistral 610, and will now be on board Suter machinery from 2018 alongside current rider Marcel Schrötter within the German outfit.

Xavi Vierge: “For me it’s a really great day, I’m very happy. It’s a new goal for me. I’ve worked really hard over the last few years and now the time has come for the next step. Dynavolt Intact GP is the best team in Moto2 for me and I’m excited about this new project. I’m also very grateful to Tech 3 for having given me the chance to move up to the World Championship, I’ve learned a lot and improved a lot. To be able to win, you need the best machinery and I think Dynavolt has that. For me it’s important to be able to completely concentrate on riding and that everything else is at the best level – that’s why I made the decision to join the team.”

Jürgen Lingg, Team Manager: “We always keep an eye on what’s happening in the paddock and more than anything, how young riders are developing. Xavi has been on our radar for a long time. I’ve always had a good impression of him, as a guy as well as rider. You can see in his achievements that’s he’s continually improving. Last year he was Rookie of the Year, he’s young, and that fits in well with our team. That’s why we wanted to secure him, and he wanted to come and race with us. We’re happy it worked out.”

Stefan Keckeisen, Team Shareholder: “We’ve chosen a great talent. A lot of other teams had their eye on Xavi, so we’re even happier that he chose to come to us. It’s important that he believes in us. Likewise, we believe in him and that he has a lot of potential. He’s only 20 and I’m convinced we can find a lot of success with him. So I’m very positive about the future.”
