Aspar Team and KTM form new alliance in Moto3™

Spanish squad to start new project with Austrian factory next season

The Aspar Team will contest the Moto3™ World Championship with KTM in 2018. The Spanish outfit will start a new project of future Moto3™ collaboration with the Austrian factory in both the Grand Prix paddock and in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship.

With this move the Aspar Team are aiming to return to the battle for the category title and to add to the 124 victories that it has already achieved.

Jorge Martínez "Aspar", Aspar Team Principal: "The objective of this union is to win races and to be World Champions again. History tells you that our technical staff are prepared for this. We are on the brink of a new challenge, a new era that promises great opportunities for the Aspar Team. We hope to announce our riders soon but the most important thing is that with KTM, and all of their experience, we can put together a winning project."

Jens Hainbach, Vice President KTM Motorsport Road Racing: "We are very happy and excited with this new partnership between KTM Motorsport and Aspar starting from 2018. Aspar have had so much success over the years, we now want to join our efforts to fight for more victories and more championships in the near future on both the world scene and in Spain with the Junior Moto3 World Championship. There will be two KTM RC250 GP motorcycles for each Championship from KTM as this partnership goes forward. We are very proud to have this partnership with Aspar Team as we welcome them with open arms to the orange family."
