Canet comes from P16 on the grid to win

EG 0,0 rider stages an impressive comeback

Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) had a difficult qualifying day at the British GP, but the race was a different story as the Spaniard took an impressive third win of the season. Coming from P16 on the grid was no mean feat but Canet did just that, moving through to the front before the race was Red Flagged. The EG 0,0 rider had been first over the line for the previous whole lap completed, therefore awarded the win.

Aron Canet, P1: “I’m really happy after this third win of the season. We’re getting better in many areas and I’m consistent running in the front group. We had a tough race because we were sixteenth on the grid, but I was able to make up some positions until tagged onto the front group. I studied the riders and I saw that Jorge Martin had the best rhythm, so I was closing the door when Jorge was ahead to see if we could make a break for it. In the end that wasn’t possible, but I was able to overtake Martin. In the last few laps some riders were able to pass me back, but I saw I could still fight for the win and I went for it – just after that, the Red Flag came out and being first on the lap before gave me the win.”
