Bastianini: “I was going to overtake at the last corners"

A Red Flag cut the British GP short for Moto3™ but the ‘Bestia’ took P2

Enea Bastianini (Estrella Galicia 0,0) has had a difficult 2017 so far, but the Italian was back on the podium in the British GP as he came second. The race was cut short on the last lap by a Red Flag, meaning he lost the chance to try his final attack – but the result is an important one ahead of his home race at Misano, where he took his first win.

Enea Bastianini, P2: “It’s a great position because this season has been very difficult for me. This result is very important for me and my team. We worked a lot in the morning to adjust the bike and in the race it was ok. On the last lap I was close to Martin, and the Red Flag changed everything and I was second. I had a plan, I was going to overtake at the last two corners and win! But it’s not easy. Misano is my town and I like the track a lot, it’s possible to try and get another good result.”
